Lindy Waters Hosts Event to Inspire Native Students Toward Higher Education
Oklahoma's Lindy Waters, an NBA player for the San Antonio Spurs, is using his influence to motivate Native students to pursue higher education through a special event.
Preparing for the Upcoming Season
Waters shared updates about his preparations for the new NBA season:
"I've been busy. Getting ready for the season with the San Antonio Spurs. I had a great camp, had an eye appointment and unfortunately they found a couple of small tears but we got that repaired. Hopefully, can make my return in the next week."
Event to Encourage Native Students
Alongside his foundation, Waters is organizing an event designed to give Native students a firsthand college experience to inspire them toward higher education.
"We're trying to be able to use my platform to expose them to higher education... I would want someone with the same stature, or platform to provide that for me if I was younger."
Waters aims to use his platform to support and encourage young Native individuals to achieve their educational goals.
