Glass Returns as Devils Face Canadiens

Game Preview

The New Jersey Devils (record 9-3-1) host the Montreal Canadiens at Prudential Center, kicking off a three-game homestand. The winner of tonight’s matchup will be the first team in the league to reach 10 wins this season.

Player Update: Cody Glass

Center Cody Glass took part in the Devils' morning skate and is set to return after missing seven games due to an upper-body injury.

"It was a weird injury to have, it popped out of nowhere. I'm happy to be back with the guys," said Glass. He added, "I'm 100 percent and shouldn’t be limited at all. I'm just trying to jump right into it, get hit, see how it goes. It's hockey."

Team Lineup Changes

Forward Connor Brown practiced recently but did not skate today and has missed the previous two games.

With Glass back, the Devils will restore the lines that propelled their eight-game winning streak. Glass will resume his role as third-line center, allowing Mercer to shift to wing and reunite with Nico Hischier and Timo Meier.

On defense, rookie Arseny Gritsyuk will have fewer responsibilities as he moves down to the third line.

Summary: Cody Glass returns to the Devils’ lineup, enabling key line adjustments as New Jersey aims to extend its winning streak against Montreal.
