Gordon Findlay, a Novo Nordisk executive, unexpectedly collapsed in the Oval Office during a press conference where the Trump administration announced a new agreement on weight-loss medications.
Findlay was standing behind President Donald Trump when his knees suddenly gave way. Administration officials and pharmaceutical representatives quickly intervened to prevent him from falling to the floor.
“During the Most Favored Nations Oval Office Announcement, a representative with one of the companies fainted. The White House Medical Unit quickly jumped into action, and the gentleman is okay. The Press Conference will resume shortly.”
— White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt
Dr. Mehmet Oz, Administrator for Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, assisted Findlay to the ground to protect his head. Following the incident, reporters were asked to leave the Oval Office while cabinet members attended to Findlay and elevated his legs.
The press conference was briefly paused but resumed shortly after Findlay received medical attention and was confirmed to be okay.
