During a White House press conference announcing a new agreement on weight-loss medications, Novo Nordisk executive Gordon Findlay unexpectedly collapsed while standing behind President Donald Trump in the Oval Office.
Witnesses reported that Findlay’s knees gave way suddenly, prompting administration officials and pharmaceutical representatives to rush forward to assist him and prevent injury.
“During the Most Favored Nations Oval Office Announcement, a representative with one of the companies fainted. The White House Medical Unit quickly jumped into action, and the gentleman is okay. The Press Conference will resume shortly.”
The statement was issued by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, who confirmed that the individual had recovered and that the event would continue as planned.
According to reporters, Dr. Mehmet Oz, Administrator for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, helped support Findlay to the floor to prevent a head injury. Members of the cabinet then attended to him, elevating his legs while reporters were briefly escorted from the room.
