WI Members Keep Poppy Tribute Alive in Trysull

Members of the Trysull and Seisdon Women’s Institute continued their annual tradition by creating a vibrant poppy display on the war memorial at Trysull Church. This marks the fourth consecutive year they have honored Remembrance Day with this tribute.

The group knitted thousands of poppies as a gesture of respect for those who lost their lives in wartime. Among the red flowers, some purple poppies were added to recognize the animals that served and died alongside the soldiers.

After being washed and dried, the poppies were attached to new netting by several members and carefully fastened to the memorial. The completed display caught the attention of passers-by, who praised its beauty and meaning.

“A fitting tribute to all those who gave their lives.”
