Road closures in the city for Pageant day tomorrow
The festive season officially begins tomorrow morning as the Christmas Pageant fills the city with celebration. Road users are urged to plan ahead due to extensive closures throughout the CBD.
Several main roads will be shut from early morning until the afternoon, with up to 300,000 spectators expected along the traditional Pageant route. A detailed list of closures is available on the official Christmas Pageant website.
Pageant Route
The procession will begin at South Terrace, continue along King William Street, pass the western side of Tarntanyangga, move through Reconciliation Plaza, then follow Wakefield Street, Pulteney Street, North Terrace, and end at Beehive Corner.
Traffic Advice
“The Christmas Pageant brings huge numbers to the city each year so road closures will be in place tomorrow morning to keep everyone safe,” said RAA Senior Manager Safety and Infrastructure Charles Mountain.
“On-street parking will be as rare as a white Christmas, so check for off-street options and allow plenty of extra time if you’re driving to the Pageant.”
Drivers are encouraged to use alternative transport or plan for delays when accessing the city during the event.
