Megyn Kelly delivered a harsh critique of the Republican Party after significant losses in the recent elections. She argued that Republicans lack effective leadership without President Donald Trump and fail to present a winning strategy.
During her show, Kelly discussed the Democrats' notable victories in California, New Jersey, Virginia, and New York City. She expressed disappointment with the Republican response to these results.
The Republican party needs to get its s–t together ASAP.
Kelly pointed out the party's misplaced focus, referencing recent Republican attention to minor controversies online and within think tanks, rather than critical issues related to campaign strategy.
I’m really glad we spent the past couple of weeks, as Sean Davis of the Federalist put it, policing some young person’s group chat. What a podcast host said and what the head of a think tank over at Heritage had to say. I’m really glad that the Republicans devoted so much time to that. That was a great move.
She argued that Republicans seem comfortable with defeat:
The Republicans like to lose. They enjoy when they are embattled and in a losing position and complaining. They do it really well.
Kelly further claimed that the party relies heavily on Trump’s leadership and questioned its capacity to succeed independently.
Republicans don’t know how to win. They don’t know who to run. They don’t know what to do when daddy’s not there to fly them across the finish line. And that’s just been so obvious.
Megyn Kelly strongly criticized Republicans for poor leadership and focus after their election defeats, highlighting a troubling dependence on President Trump for electoral success.
