The National Weather Service (NWS) Los Angeles/Oxnard office has issued a dense fog advisory effective until 9 a.m. Saturday. The advisory covers several areas including San Luis Obispo County Beaches and Inland Central Coast, Santa Barbara County Central Coast Beaches, Inland Central Coast, Santa Ynez Valley, Southwestern and Southeastern Coasts, Ventura County Beaches and Inland Coast, as well as the Malibu Coast.
The NWS warns of visibility reduced to one-quarter mile or less due to dense fog, which can create hazardous driving conditions.
"Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous," explains the NWS. "If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you."
A dense fog advisory is issued when widespread dense fog leads to significant visibility reduction, often making travel dangerous. The NWS advises extra caution on roads or, if possible, to avoid driving during these conditions.
This advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m. Saturday. Please stay alert and drive safely.
