Viewers of the popular ITV daytime chat show Loose Women expressed criticism of the panel's "weird" behaviour during Thursday's episode.
The lunchtime hosts Jane Moore, Mariella Frostrup, Nadia Sawalha, and Sue Cleaver welcomed singer Matteo Bocelli, son of opera legend Andrea Bocelli, to discuss his second album and live performances.
Jane Moore opened the interview by complimenting Matteo's looks:
"Well, first of all, can we just say you are impossibly handsome? But I'm sure you get a lot of that!"
Matteo spoke about his latest record, Falling In Love:
"Honestly, I feel like I evolved so this time I had the chance to work on the album with more time and was dreaming to set the studio at home and spend three or four weeks with the producers. Music is an exchange of ideas, and to me, it was very important to get it. There's a cover that has more of a classical feeling, but mainly pop."
Mariella Frostrup, sitting beside Matteo, leaned in and laughed gently while he shared about growing up with a father famous for a different musical genre.
The audience quickly reacted unfavorably to the panel's approach, describing the interview as strange and awkward.
The Loose Women interview with Matteo Bocelli attracted criticism for awkward behaviour, despite insights into his music and background.
