The Pittsburgh Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) celebrated local architects and designers through its annual Design Pittsburgh program. This event honors outstanding work in architecture and design that shapes our environment with safety, sustainability, and beauty.
Now in its 42nd year, Design Pittsburgh features an architectural design exhibition and a juried Design Awards competition. The program also includes public voting for the People’s Choice Award.
The award ceremony and reception took place on November 6 at Downtown’s August Wilson African American Cultural Center. Among the honored projects was the New Trinity Intermediate School in Washington County, designed by DRAW Collective.
DRAW Collective won the People’s Choice Award for its design of the New Trinity Intermediate School, a state-of-the-art facility with 30 classrooms optimized for natural light, scenic campus views, and specialized learning support spaces.
These projects, along with others recognized by Design Pittsburgh, reflect the region's architectural innovation and commitment to community-focused design.
Summary: Pittsburgh’s Design Pittsburgh highlights the creativity and impact of local architects, celebrating projects that combine innovative design with community values and sustainability.
