Brussels Airport temporarily suspended operations after multiple drones were spotted, raising security concerns throughout Belgium. A spokesperson for air traffic control company Skeyes confirmed the stoppage on Thursday but did not specify the number of drones involved.
Local media reported drone sightings in various regions, including near a military base. Earlier on Thursday, the Belgian government convened an emergency meeting with key ministers and security officials following similar incidents that forced the closure of airports and a military air base on Tuesday evening.
The defense minister described the events as a coordinated attack.
"Moscow has denied any connection with the incidents."
Drone disruptions are increasingly challenging European security, prompting coordinated responses from affected governments.
