Mail shipments to Canada will resume next week despite the ongoing rolling strike at Canada Post. A spokeswoman for the Bermuda Post Office confirmed that mail shipments to Canada will restart on Monday, though delivery delays might still occur due to ongoing disruptions.
She stated:
“The BPO appreciates the public’s patience and co-operation during this time.”
The suspension of mail delivery services from Bermuda to Canada began in late September following a nationwide strike by Canada Post. Recently, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers shifted from a national strike to a rotating strike, permitting mail delivery to recommence.
The Bermuda Post Office also announced that all local post offices will close at noon tomorrow for a staff event. The spokeswoman added:
“The BPO apologises for any inconvenience this early closure may cause.”
