To celebrate the vinyl release of her third solo album, Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party, Hayley Williams unveiled "Showbiz," a surprise new track. This song joins previously added tracks "Good Ol Days" and "Parachute," released after the initial 17-song collection launched last summer via her label Post Atlantic and distributed by Secretly Distribution.
Co-written with producer and collaborator Daniel James, who contributed to the entire album, "Showbiz" captures a vivid scene of a romantic encounter enveloped in the dim, smoky atmosphere of a club. Williams sings:
“I wanna do it again / I wanna dance in the strobe lights / I wanna choke on the smoke / And feel your eyes on me.”
She reflects on whether the moment carried the same significance for the other person as it did for her.
The visualizer for "Showbiz" showcases the Nashville skyline along with the distinctive scribbles Williams incorporated throughout the album artwork, reinforcing the record's aesthetic.
Last night, record stores worldwide hosted “Ego Nite” events to mark the album’s physical release. The celebrations included record playbacks, merchandise sales, and the availability of physical copies of the LP.
Fans can listen to "Showbiz" and enjoy the visualizer as part of this album cycle.
