Shoshana Bean shared why she has not yet seen Wicked: Part 1, even though the sequel, Wicked: For Good, is set to hit theaters in November.
At the New York Restoration Project Hulaween Gala on October 24, Bean explained her decision to delay watching the first film until the second one is released, so she can enjoy both movies back-to-back.
“I waited until the second, so I could watch them back-to-back,” Bean, 48, said. She added that she’s “absolutely” excited to experience both films in succession.
Bean starred as Elphaba on Broadway from 2005 to 2006. Her enthusiasm for the movies is further sparked by seeing the song “No Good Deed” adapted for the big screen.
“It’s a very cinematic song, and I would love to see it have more life than what a stage is capable of doing,” Bean explained. “I could not even possibly imagine to the extent that Jon Chu’s genius can dream, can create.”
The excitement for Wicked: For Good grows as its release nears, promising a fresh adaptation of the beloved musical.
Shoshana Bean, former Elphaba on Broadway, is postponing her viewing of the Wicked movies to watch both parts together, anticipating a cinematic experience beyond the stage.
