Stephen Curry led the Golden State Warriors with 24 points in a 114-109 defeat against the Indiana Pacers at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Despite his strong performance, the team struggled in critical moments, especially during the third quarter.
Curry acknowledged the difficulties faced throughout the match. The Warriors built an 88-82 lead entering the fourth quarter but couldn’t maintain it. Quenton Jackson scored 12 of his 25 points during the final period, helping the Pacers close the gap.
“There are parts of the game where we just… made it too hard on all of us with not getting organized, bad possessions, a little lack of energy. And you give a team like that life,” Curry said.
He emphasized the importance of being more decisive and aggressive, not only in shooting but also in playmaking and organizing teammates during key moments.
“I got to be better just being more decisive, more aggressive, even not to shoot, but to play make and get everybody organized,” Curry explained.
As a veteran, Curry highlighted the significance of professionalism and preparation for peak performance.
“Just be professional, understand what you need to do to get your body, your mind ready to bring your best self… you have to demonstrate that, execute it,” he added.
Curry pointed out that turnovers and momentum shifts were costly for the Warriors, particularly in the third quarter.
“There were a couple possessions… turnovers in the third quarter… you give them a fast break layup. It changes the momentum,” he noted.
Steph Curry emphasized that the Warriors’ defeat was largely due to poor organization, crucial turnovers, and a lack of energy, underscoring the need for professionalism and decisive playmaking.
