Grimes Reaches 1,000 Points as Tech Women Dominate Cumberlands

Reghan Grimes needed just five points to join the 1,000-point club at the start of the season, but she far exceeded that with 24 points to lead the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles to a 92-67 win over the University of the Cumberlands on Monday night at the Eblen Center.

The team shot nearly 50 percent from the field with a 30-for-61 clip, made 10 of 22 three-point attempts, and converted 22 of 33 free throws. However, the Golden Eagles faced foul trouble, being called for 33 fouls, with seven players nearly fouling out. This allowed the Patriots 50 trips to the free-throw line, where they converted 32 shots (64%).

Opposition Highlights

For the visiting University of the Cumberlands (3-0), Joy Kendrick led with 21 points and was 12-for-15 at the free-throw line, despite shooting just 4-for-15 from the field.
