The Vancouver Canucks have officially ended their association with Russian winger Vitali Kravtsov. General manager Patrik Allvin announced on Tuesday that the 25-year-old was placed on unconditional waivers with the intent to terminate his contract.
Kravtsov participated in the team’s training camp in Penticton, British Columbia, before being sent to the Abbotsford Canucks, Vancouver’s AHL affiliate. During his stint there, he contributed one goal and three assists in ten games.
The Canucks acquired Kravtsov from the New York Rangers in February 2023. For most of the past two seasons, however, he played in Russia for Traktor Chelyabinsk of the KHL. The six-foot-three, 186-pound forward made one goal and one assist in sixteen NHL games during the 2022–23 season and later tallied 27 goals and 31 assists over 66 games with Chelyabinsk in the 2024–25 campaign.
