The Georgia Bulldogs football family came together to support former coach Mark Richt’s battle against Parkinson’s disease through the annual Dawg Bowl event. Current players and legendary alumni joined forces for this major charity fundraiser.
The fundraising event took place on Wednesday and featured bowling to benefit the Isakson Center for Neurological Disease Research. Proceeds will support research for Parkinson’s and Crohn’s disease.
Coach Mark Richt was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2021. His organization hosts the Dawg Bowl annually to raise both funds and awareness for neurological diseases.
“Every one of the guys I asked said yes,” Richt told DawgsHQ, expressing gratitude for the strong turnout.
Former All-American David Pollack attended, emphasizing the lasting bonds within the Bulldog community. Kirby Smart, who once coached running backs under Richt in 2005, continues to uphold many of the cultural pillars set by Richt.
Former running back Tyson Browning said the event underlines “the importance of older players feeling involved.”
The Dawg Bowl showcased the strong unity and tradition within Georgia football across generations.
