Paul Rodgers, founding member and frontman of Bad Company, announced via social media that he will not attend or perform at the band's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on November 8.
The 75-year-old singer explained,
"My hope was to be at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and to perform for the fans, but at this time I have to prioritize my health. I have no problem singing, it's the stress of everything else."
Rodgers has a history of serious health issues, having suffered two major strokes in 2016 and 2019, along with 11 minor strokes, which he previously disclosed on CBS Mornings.
Simon Kirke, Rodgers’s longtime bandmate from Free and Bad Company, had planned to reunite with him on stage during the ceremony, as revealed in a recent episode of the podcast Lyndsanity! with Lyndsey Parker. However, Rodgers later clarified that Kirke would perform without him.
Rodgers’s decision highlights his focus on well-being over public appearances, despite his willingness to perform vocally.
