Arc Raiders May Have Sold Over 2.5 Million Copies

According to data from industry analyst Rhy Elliott of Alinea Analytics, the cooperative sci-fi shooter Arc Raiders may have surpassed 2.5 million copies sold, generating more than $100 million in revenue for developer Embark Studios.

The majority of these sales come from Steam users, who make up about 69.2% of the playerbase. The remaining gamers are divided between PlayStation with 17.3% and Xbox with 13.5%, according to Alinea Analytics’ internal estimates.

Why Players Are Drawn to Arc Raiders

While many extraction shooters struggle to achieve similar levels of success, Elliott suggests that Arc Raiders stands out because of its strong social and cooperative emphasis rather than its genre alone.

“ARC Raiders is great because it focuses on community — not because it's an extraction shooter.”

Elliott also highlighted the crossover between Arc Raiders and other popular cooperative titles.

“Our crossover estimates show that about half of ARC Raiders players on Steam have also played Phasmophobia, Lethal Company, and Helldivers 2. And over 40% have played R.E.P.O, Valheim, PEAK, and Dead by Daylight.”

Community as the Key Element

The report indicates that the game’s focus on teamwork and shared experience has been the main reason behind its impressive performance and player loyalty.

Author’s Summary: Arc Raiders’ success lies in its community-driven design, achieving over 2.5 million sales and $100 million revenue through its cooperative gameplay focus.
