EDMONTON — Nathan MacKinnon scored two goals and provided two assists as the Colorado Avalanche dominated the Edmonton Oilers 9-1 on Saturday. The Western Conference leaders extended their point streak to six games with this overwhelming win.
Scott Wedgewood made 23 saves for Colorado to secure the win. Edmonton’s Stuart Skinner allowed four goals on 13 shots before being replaced by Calvin Pickard, who stopped 17 shots.
Just over a minute after MacKinnon opened the scoring at 6:31 of the first period, Cale Makar scored again with a powerful wrist shot for his sixth goal of the season and 20th point overall. This also extended Makar’s road point streak to nine games.
