The upcoming Unrivaled season begins on January 5, with several games hosted in Philadelphia. Paige Bueckers was selected first overall by The Breeze in Wednesday’s Unrivaled draft, marking her second No. 1 pick of the year.
The Breeze and The Hive are the two new clubs entering the 3-on-3 league, which takes place in Miami during the winter.
Players were divided into six pods based on position—guards, wings, and forwards—across six total rounds. The draft rotated among eight teams, ensuring balanced selections.
Bueckers, who was also the top WNBA pick by Dallas in April, will play alongside Rickea Jackson, Dominique Malonga, Aari McDonald, Kate Martin, and Cameron Brink.
The Hive roster features Kelsey Mitchell, Sonia Citron, Ezi Magbegor, Natisha Hiedeman, Saniya Rivers, and Monique Billings.
The four playoff teams from last season—The Rose, Lunar Owls, Vinyl, and Laces—were permitted to protect two players each from being drafted by the expansion teams. The Phantom and Mist, who missed the playoffs, could each safeguard one player.
The Rose will see the return of Chelsea Gray, Kahleah Copper, Lexie Hull, Azura Stevens, Shakira Austin, and Sug Sutton.
The Lunar Owls roster includes Marina Mabrey, Aaliyah Edwards, Rebecca Allen, Rachel Banham, and co-founder Napheesa Collier alongside Skylar Diggins.
“Players were divided into six position-based pods of guards, wings, and forwards, and there were six rounds total.”
