World Seniors Snooker Championship Expanded for 2026

World Seniors Snooker (WSS) has announced that the 2026 World Seniors Snooker Championship will once again be held at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield. The event will run from 6–10 May 2026 and will feature an expanded field of 24 players, with two tables in use during the early rounds.

The tournament will be broadcast live across the UK on Channel 5, marking another milestone for the competition’s growing audience and professional reach.

New Entrants and Returning Champions

Snooker icon Jimmy White aims to capture a record-breaking fifth Seniors title, while 1997 world champion Ken Doherty will pursue his first Seniors triumph at the Crucible.

Returning Competitors

Defending champion Alfie Burden is set to return alongside Tony Drago, Joe Perry, and Dominic Dale. Six additional players will be confirmed later, expanding the global roster.
