Davina McCall, 58, recently revealed on social media that she had a biopsy after discovering a lump, which led to surgery to remove cancer via lumpectomy just weeks ago. She received an outpouring of support from fans and celebrity friends such as Amanda Holden and Penny Lancaster.
In November 2024, Davina announced she had been diagnosed with a colloid cyst, a rare benign brain tumour, and underwent surgery to remove it.
In her video message, she said her cancer was caught “very very early” but she would still undergo five days of radiotherapy in January as an “insurance policy” to stay cancer-free.
She expressed gratitude to the medical team, her family, and her fiancé Michael Douglas. Reflecting on her initial feelings, she admitted:
“I was very angry when I found out, but I let go of that and I feel in a much more positive place now.”
Davina encouraged others to be proactive about breast health, captioning her video:
“The message here, is know your boobs. Sending out huge love.”
She first shared her diagnosis publicly at her charity event Dine With Davina in Southampton, where she recounted a moment that made her take action:
“Lorraine Kelly had put signs on the backs of all the doors saying ‘check your breasts’ and every time I went for a wee I did that. It was still there, and then one morning I saw myself in the mirror and thought ‘I’m going to get that looked at.’”
Davina McCall's early cancer diagnosis and treatment highlight the importance of breast awareness and timely medical care, supported by both fans and fellow celebrities.
