Police: Elderly driver caused two crashes in Bethlehem in minutes, killing one person

Fatal Crashes in Bethlehem

Bethlehem Police reported that an 83-year-old man from West Coxsackie caused two separate crashes within minutes of each other on Friday, resulting in one fatality.

The first crash occurred at approximately 12:46 p.m. on Route 9W near Church Road. The elderly driver was traveling north and crossed into the southbound lane, sideswiping another vehicle. Fortunately, no one was injured in this incident.

Minutes later, at around 12:48 p.m., the second crash happened on Route 9W near Wemple Road, resulting in one fatality.

No additional information was provided about the fatal crash.

Similar incidents have occurred in the area, including a driver, 85, charged in a deadly Pittsfield crash and a man, 95, crashing into a home in Voorheesville.
