Statewide center at USF launches Florida’s first-of-its-kind interactive dashboard addressing behavioral health workforce shortage

Florida's Behavioral Health Workforce Shortage Addressed with Interactive Dashboard

The Florida Center for Behavioral Health Workforce (FCBHW) at the University of South Florida has launched a first-of-its-kind interactive dashboard to project behavioral health workforce supply and demand through 2035.

This dashboard is designed to equip policymakers, providers, educators, and advocates with the necessary tools to address Florida's critical shortage of behavioral health professionals.

“Florida now has a way to see not just where the workforce stands today, but where it’s headed,”

said Julie Serovich, dean of the USF College of Behavioral and Community Sciences. The launch of the dashboard comes ahead of Florida Behavioral Health Day on Oct. 15, which highlights the urgent need to close access gaps and prepare the state's workforce for the future.

Key features of the dashboard include data by profession and region, providing a comprehensive overview of the state's behavioral health workforce.
