Tasmania’s Chief Thoroughbred Steward Sacked
Tasracing has terminated the employment of Tasmania’s chief thoroughbred steward due to "conduct-related matters".
The steward was stood down on September 21, just days after starting in the role on September 15, but the details of the misconduct have not been disclosed.
The conduct was described as "disappointing" by Racing Integrity Commissioner Sean Carroll.
Commissioner Carroll stated that he is "satisfied with the manner in which Tasracing has managed the situation since becoming aware of the allegations".
The incident led Carroll to reinforce his expectations for the industry.
