TCD Women’s Health Soc

TCD Women's Health Society

Trinity's Women's Health Society was founded three years ago and has grown to a community of over 300 members, serving as a safe space, educational hub, and connection point.

The society was established in response to the lack of access and resources for women's health on campus, a issue not unique to Trinity.

Personally, I never got any women's health education in school

Seraphina Ho, the current chair of Women's Health, and Ella O'Malley, one of the founders and current OCM, highlight the need for comprehensive women's health education from primary school onwards.

It's stuff you should know by the day you are menstruating or having sex, it is stuff that we should be taught in primary school … There just aren’t health classes that actually teach women about their bodies, about their hormones, about how to even cope with period pain, or pain that isn’t actually normal

The society aims to fill this gap in education and provide a supportive community for its members.

Author's summary: TCD Women's Health Society provides education and support.
