New Braunfels ISD Suspends Secondary Student Access to Libraries
Effective immediately, the New Braunfels Independent School District has restricted access to its libraries and library materials for secondary students.
This decision comes as staff review the current collection to ensure it follows the standards of Senate Bill 13 (SB13), which requires that school library materials do not include any content that is considered harmful, indecent or profane.
SB13, which came out of the 89th legislative session, sets the standards for school library materials.
The review aims to ensure that the library materials align with these standards.
