County Rejects Paying $130K Leamington-Windsor Bus Deficit
In a tight 7-6 vote, Essex County council rejected a motion to cover the Leamington-to-Windsor bus operating deficit.
Warden and Leamington Mayor Hilda MacDonald called on county councillors to think more regionally ahead of the vote, stating:
The county will continue to explore starting its own regional transit system, but the current financially troubled Leamington-to-Windsor bus service will not receive funding to cover its $130,000 operating deficit.
