Man Arrested for September Police Chase After Inquiring About Employment

A 37-year-old man with a prior felony conviction was taken into custody by the North Charleston Police Department (NCPD) in relation to a September police chase that caused a hit-and-run.

Nathaniel Lamar Gailliard, Jr. approached NCPD officers to ask about employment opportunities with the city, but was arrested after a loaded AR-15 magazine was found in the door pocket of the van he exited.

The NCPD announced the arrest on Tuesday, following the incident on Monday.
