Zimbabwe to Leverage Inga Transmission Power Line
Zimbabwe's government has set its sights on the Inga 3 Transmission Line Project to address current power shortages.
- The project involves the Democratic Republic of Congo, South Africa, Zambia, Botswana, and Zimbabwe.
- The Quintet Electricity Project aims to generate over 40,000MW of hydro power from the Congo River.
The government had approved the inter-governmental memorandum of understanding (MoU) on co-operation regarding the development of the Inga 3 Transmission Line Project.
According to Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services minister Jenfan Muswere, this was confirmed during a post-Cabinet media briefing in Harare.
