Arkansas and interim coach Bobby Petrino are familiar with Texas A&M's second-year offensive coordinator Collin Klein, a former Kansas State quarterback.
Klein was the Big 12 offensive player of the year in 2012, with 2,641 passing yards, 920 rushing yards, and 39 combined touchdowns. He finished third in the Heisman Trophy voting behind winner Johnny Manziel.
Petrino said, "I always thought he was a heck of a runner with the football... When we had to play him and even years prior to that, watching the quarterback runs, I think he was probably on the front end of quarterback designed runs when he was a player, and they did a great job with it."
Klein previously rushed for 1,141 yards and 27 touchdowns, leading the Wildcats to a 29-16 loss to Petrino and the Razorbacks at the Cotton Bowl.
