Robert Irwin's Emotional Dance Dedication
Robert Irwin, a 21-year-old wildlife conservationist, broke down after his "Dancing with the Stars" performance, which was a dedication to his mom, Terri Irwin.
"A weight lifted"
Backstage, Robert explained that he dedicated his dance to all mothers and anyone experiencing grief after loss, including his own grief over the loss of his late father, Steve Irwin.
- Terri Irwin joined her son at the end of the dance, which left the audience and judges in tears.
- Judges Derek Hough, Bruno Tonioli, and Carrie Ann Inaba were visibly emotional during the performance.
"It was really hard to express that and really hard to actually get through a dance while internally you’re processing and getting all of these emotions out there,"
Robert told entertainment reporter Courtney Tezeno.
