Over 200 GBA Engineers Pulled From Pothole Work To Conduct Caste Survey Across Bengaluru

Engineers Diverted from Pothole Work to Conduct Caste Survey in Bengaluru

Road repair work in Bengaluru has slowed down after over 200 engineers from five municipal corporations under the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) were pulled from pothole work to conduct a state-wide socio-economic survey.

The diversion comes at a critical time, with the Chief Minister's October 31st deadline looming and recent heavy rains damaging freshly asphalted stretches across the city.

GBA engineers and staff, who were working day and night to patch up potholes, are now occupied with door-to-door enumeration for the caste survey.

The diversion of engineers has slowed road repair work to a crawl.
