Rostov 4 Cooling Basin Complete
Concreting of the bowl for the first of four drainage basins at Russia’s Rostov 4 NPP has been completed.
The system, planned for operation in 2027, will supply chilled water to enhance summer cooling, increase safety, and ensure reliable operation during extreme temperatures.
- The volume of each bowl will be about 4,400 cubic metres with a depth of more than five metres.
- Construction began in July 2025.
The fan cooling tower complex will provide additional cooling to unit 4 during the summer maximum temperature period.
