Town Hall in Indianapolis Aims to Rebuild Trust

A town hall meeting was held in Indianapolis to discuss the lack of trust between the community and police officers.

Local clergy and police officers gathered to talk about the impact of mistrust on public safety. The event was organized by the Northwest Community Resource District Council and the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department at Purpose of Life Ministries.

“We can’t do this in a silo. That’s been part of the problem thus far, is people work in their silos.”

According to David Greene Sr., president of Concerned Clergy of Indianapolis, the goal is to heal old wounds and address mistrust surrounding police shootings and everyday interactions with law enforcement.

The meeting was driven by a grassroots effort to rebuild trust between the community and the police department.
