BV to Class First Hydrogen-Powered General Cargo Ships
Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore (BV) has entered into a contract with Gelibolu Shipyard and eCap Marine for the classification of two hydrogen-powered cargo vessels.
The vessels, designed by Naval Dynamics, will be powered by hydrogen fuel cells and are intended for Norwegian shipowner Møre Sjø AS.

According to the ship designer, the vessels are NDAS EcoFlex 4.0K fuel cell coastal bulkers, designed to transport heavy and occasional dry bulk cargoes under the Norwegian flag.
