Large Police Presence Closes Clark Middle School
The Anchorage Police Department responded to a disturbance with a weapon on Commercial Drive Thursday morning.
According to the APD, the response resulted in a large police presence around Commercial Drive and Mountain View Drive, closing Mountain View Drive from Porcupine Drive to Commercial Drive at one point.
As of 9 a.m. Thursday, there were no road closures, but Clark Middle School was closed for the day due to the police presence, according to the Anchorage School District.
Students and staff at the school were reported to be safe, and the public was asked to avoid the area unless necessary.
