Billingsley High School and Maplesville High School have qualified for the regional tournament after competing in the Class 1A Area 7 area tournament, with Billingsley emerging victorious in a 3-1 match.
“It feels amazing, this is my second year, but this shows the quality of the program, not just the team, but the program,”
said Billingsley head coach Carrie Ellis after winning the area championship.
In the first match of the tournament, top-seeded Billingsley dominated Breakthrough Charter School 3-0, winning the sets 25-15, 25-6, and 25-13, advancing to the area championship.
Maplesville faced Francis Marion School in their first match.
