Rehab Ahmed, the Paris 2024 gold medallist, has won her first Worlds title at home in the women’s up to 61kg category after recovering from a chest injury.
Ahmed, who suffered from pectoralis major tears, clinched her fifth World Championships title on the fifth day of Elite competitions at Cairo 2025.
Other notable winners include China's Cui Jianjin, who broke the world record twice before winning her first international gold, and Turkiye’s Abdullah Kayapinar, who dethroned two-time Paralympic and world champion Omar Qarada.
