Campaigners have conceded defeat as the final attempt to save the Wales Air Ambulance base in Welshpool has been unsuccessful.
The Court of Appeal has refused an appeal hearing into the closure, leaving no other options available. The base in North Powys will be closed, and a new one will be opened in north east Wales.
Despite the loss of the air ambulance base, it is hoped that a land vehicle will be introduced to provide round-the-clock immediate responses for the local area.
The famous red helicopters will no longer be flying out of the local airport next year.
