Canucks Score 3 First-Period Goals, Hang On to Trip Capitals 4-3

The Vancouver Canucks had an early start time but it was no trouble for them. They burst out of the gate with three first-period goals and held on for a 4-3 win over the Washington Capitals.

Vancouver has won three games in a row, all on the road in less than 72 hours. Centre Elias Pettersson, Tyler Myers, and Kiefer Sherwood all scored in the first 20 minutes for the Canucks.

Ryan Leonard, Jakob Chychrun, and John Carlson replied for the Caps. Charlie Lindgren took the loss in goal, stopping 19 of 23 shots.

The Canucks scored on the first shot of the game, when Conor Garland made a pass from the right corner to Pettersson, who beat Lindgren from the bottom of the circle for his first goal of the year.
