US Supreme Court Justices' Rulings on Emergency Requests

An interesting chart from Yahoo reveals how US Supreme Court Justices rule on emergency requests from the Government.

The chart shows that Justices have backed emergency requests from the Government of the President whose party appointed them, with percentages ranging from 96% (Alito, Gorsuch) to 78% (Roberts).

More interestingly, the chart also shows how often they have backed an emergency request from the Government of a President from the other side, with the following percentages:

One interpretation is that Trump’s emergency requests are completely egregious, while Biden’s tended to be more reasonable.

Another possible explanation is that Trump has pushed far more emergency requests than all previous Presidents this century combined.
