Rookie sensation Ivan Demidov had a goal and two assists, leading the Montreal Canadiens to a 4-3 win over the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday at Rogers Arena.
Forward Elias Pettersson opened the scoring 4:42 into the first period, converting a pass from Filip Hronek for his second goal of the season.
Pettersson and Captain Quinn Hughes each dished out a pair of assists.
Kevin Lankinen stopped 20 of 24 shots and took the loss. The Canucks outshot the Canadiens 11-4 in the first period.
The squad hosts Edmonton Sunday night at Rogers Arena.
