The Gauteng Department of Education reported minor glitches during the first week of the matric final exams.
The Class of 2025 started writing the National Senior Certificate (NSC) exams, which will conclude on 27 November, with results expected early next year.
Over 700,000 candidates are registered for the 2025 cycle, a decrease from approximately 800,000 in 2024.
The integrity of the examination was not compromised.
Gauteng Department of Education spokesperson, Steve Mabona, stated that despite electricity outages and a server malfunction, their contingency plan ensured affected pupils could complete their exams at a neighbouring centre.
