The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) has chosen ANDRITZ to modernize the pumped storage units at the Srinagarind hydropower plant in Kanchanaburi province.
The contract includes replacing two 180MW pump turbine units, along with motor generators, electromechanical equipment, and auxiliaries. ANDRITZ will handle the supply, installation, and commissioning of the new systems.
The project is valued in the mid double-digit million-euro range and will be included in ANDRITZ's order intake for the second quarter of 2025. The Srinagarind hydropower plant, located on the Kwai Yai River, is one of Thailand's largest, with a total capacity of 720MW from three Francis units and two pumped storage units.
ANDRITZ will handle the supply, installation, and commissioning of the new systems.
