Deadline for Renew NC Grants Approaches
The deadline to apply for grants through Renew NC, a state program offering free assistance with home repair and rebuilding, is December 31.
This program is designed to help those affected by Hurricane Helene, with a focus on homeowners still struggling with damage and loss a year after the storm.
“Too many of our neighbors are still living in unsafe or temporary housing after Helene,” said Julia Horrocks, managing attorney at Pisgah Legal Services.
According to Horrocks, the Renew NC Single-Family Housing Program will have a long-term impact on communities by providing safe and stable housing for families, paying local contractors for their work, and generating property taxes for counties.
