Teachers Licensing Initiative to Uphold Education Standards
The Botswana Teaching Professionals Councils (BOTEPCO) has launched a teacher registration and licensing initiative, marking a new era of professionalism in the education sector.
The launch ceremony, themed 'Professionalisation at the core; Transforming Education for Sustainable Development', aims to ensure only qualified individuals teach.
“The exercise is meant to elevate the standard of teaching through advanced digitalization, which is why we are professionalising teaching. Today marks an important milestone where teaching will be professionalised,”
said Minister of Child Welfare and Basic Education, Nono Kgafela-Mokoka.
The initiative introduces a structured system for teacher licensing and registration, promoting accountability and excellence in education.
