Check Your Health- Utah's First Less Invasive Aortic Procedure

Utah's First Less Invasive Aortic Procedure

Intermountain Health surgeons have achieved a medical milestone for Utah patients by successfully performing the state’s first procedure to repair a lesion or tear in the ascending aorta.

This novel procedure uses an investigational ascending stent graft device and endovascular repair, providing patients with new options without major open-heart surgery.

As part of a new national multi-center investigational clinical trial, Intermountain Health heart and vascular surgeons have successfully performed this procedure for the first time in Utah.

This marks a new chapter for patients needing help with lesions or tears of the ascending aorta.
